Today, I was invited to make a speech at Bristol's American Legion. There were many people in attendance, including many of my family members (two of whom are veterans of Iraqi Freedom). I was so honored to have made a speech, and felt overwhelmed with emotion as I was speaking, but I spoke from the heart. I felt it especially important to thank the veterans for their contributions in defending our freedom. Today is Veterans Day, but I feel everyday should be Veterans Day. As Miss Bristol, I am dedicated to community service, however, there is no amount of community service I can complete in a lifetime that could ever compare to the sacrifices an American soldier has made for his or her country. Thank you to Lori Defillipi for allowing me to speak, and to all the men and women veterans for their sacrifices for my freedom.
