To add to the extremely long day, we all met at the Pompei's house after Santa Sunday and counted all the toys we collected earlier in the day. It took a long time, but the final count was..........445. We can officially say that the 2008 Court holds the record for the most toys collected within the past ten years. After all the toys were counted, it was interesting to get buried within the toys for pictures! This part seemed to have taken the longest because there were so many toys. Thank you so much to all those who have donated, the parents of the girls who helped, my court (I thank you the most because your energy kept us all going), and the business managers for helping out. On a personal note, I would like to extend a huge thank you to Henry Raymond for all of his efforts with fund-raising for me, Brian Glenn and his children for their generous donations, Councilman Ken Cockayne, Thomas Barnes, Scott Woolverton, Carl Aspland, George Betts, Mr. and Mrs. Chasse, and Joe Geladino for their contributions to a successful event. Also, thank you so much to the mayor of the city of Bristol, Art Ward for attending, as well as to the former mayor, Mr. Bill Stortz for yet again being a part of the Miss Bristol Program. Without your belief in our system, I do not believe we would have achieved such a goal this evening. Congratulations to all who believed we could reach this goal, and for helping to make the holiday season for boys and girls around the city of Bristol joyful.
